Water Color Painting With Straws
This is a fun project for all.

Materials:
Watercolors. I use Cake and Tube water colors.
Watercolor paper
Paint brushes
Cups of water with pitcher of extra
Paper towels
Damp Towels
We also had feathers and googly eyes, pencils and markers.

I had set out precut paper for the kids and the paints ahead of time. I pre-dampened the cake paint and mixed the tube paint with water. Once I had demonstrated the paint technique, I gave each child a straw and brush.
All it takes is dripping droplets of paint onto thick paper (regular will rumple) and blow with the straw. Imagination takes it from there. The older kids in the group really went wild and the youngers used things like trucks, paint brushes and hands to paint with.

Products used:
Niji tube water color, various cake water color kits and Strathmore Watercolor paper. As always we use nature bristle brushes and for those who like to "scrub" their paints; we used the plastic brushes from the kits.
